In 2011 the driver training industry underwent a huge shakeup, the Road Safety Authority introduced the Essential Driver Training (EDT) process. EDT is a compulsory training course that everybody wanting to obtain a driving licence must complete. The course requires 12 hour long EDIT drivers lessons, teaching fundamental and important driving skills. At the same time you will need to use an EDT Logbook, which will be signed off at the end of every lesson by your qualified instructor. Finishing the EDT course will help you to understand what it takes be a safe and respectful driver before joining the roads on your own.
At DrivingCompass we have helped many people pass their test first time and we are well versed in the EDT lesson process. We will take you through all aspects on your 12 lesson process and ensure you finish with polite, economical, respectful and safe driving habits that you can transfer to your everyday driving, to reduce the stress of being on the road for you, your passengers, and other road users. We are a firm believer that the new change in the law in 2011 was a positive one and will help many people learn long lasting habits rather than just enough to pass the single test with an examiner.Get Started
